FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Despite a 16-kill performance from Seidah El-Amin, the Lady Rams of Winston-Salem State University fell in defeat to the Fayetteville State University Lady Broncos by the score of 3-2 (30-28, 27-30, 24-30, 30-25, 13-15) at Capel Arena in Fayetteville, NC on Wednesday evening.
The Lady Rams, led by El-Amin's 16 kills raced out to an early 1-0 lead in the match before dropping the next two games to fall behind 2-1 in the match.
Head Coach Lataya Hilliard-Gray's Lady Rams responded in the fourth game of the match, forcing a fifth, and deciding, game. However, the Lady Broncos used the home-crowd advantage to earn a hard-fought 15-13 win in the fifth game en route to the match victory.
Leading the way for the Lady Broncos was Tammy McFadden with 12 kills in the win while El-Amin was the only Lady Ram to record double-digit kill totals in the losing effort.
Fayetteville State University improves to 9-13 on the season while the Lady Rams fall to 2-20 with the loss.
WSSU returns to action on Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 6:00 pm as they host the Hampton University Lady Pirates in Whitaker Gymnasium.
