It was the Lady Rams' offense that powered the team to the victory as the Lady Rams posted 62 team kills in the victory, setting a new team season-high along the way. Senior middle hitter Georgette Allen led the way for the Lady Rams as she posted a career-high 23 kills with just eight errors to lead the WSSU effort. In the first set, the Lady Rams had to claw their way past the Lady Golden Bulls for the clutch 25-21 win. After battling to a 21-21 tie, the Lady Rams scored four straight points to pull out the victory. It was Allen who keyed the effort with kills to score two of the four points. The second set was a similar battle with the two teams battling to a 24-24 tie. However, it was the Lady Golden Bulls who pulled out the win as a pair of WSSU attack errors ended the set. After letting the second set slip away, the Lady Rams took no chances in the third set, dominating the Lady Golden Bulls in a 25-7 set win. In the final set, the Lady Rams once again found a way to get the clutch points after taking a 22-21 lead. A pair of Harris kills and a JCSU attack error sealed the win for the Lady Rams and snapped the team's three-match skid.
The Lady Rams won't have long to rest, however, as the team will head to Raleigh, N.C. to take on the Shaw Lady Bears in a 6:00 p.m. match. For more information on Lady Rams volleyball, contact the WSSU Office of Athletic Media Relations at (336) 750-2909 or log on to www.WSSURams.com.
