FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (5-6, 5-2 CIAA) got back to their winning ways, Saturday when the team took a three-set win over the Bowie State Bulldogs. The Lady Rams controlled the entire match as the Lady Rams held their opponents below 20 points in all three sets, defeating the Bulldogs 25-12, 25-15, and 25-18.

The match saw the WSSU squad click on all cylinders with 39 kills on 71 total attacks while holding Bowie State to just 21 kills on 49 total attacks. WSSU senior hitter Ashley Harris led the way for the Lady Rams with 12 kills and three service aces in the win. Fellow senior hitter Erica Cole added nine kills with five service aces.

The Lady Rams controlled the entire opening set, jumping out to an early 5-1 lead. After establishing the four-point lead, the Lady Rams didn't allow their opponents to get any closer than four points and pushed their lead to 13 points by the end of the set, taking the 25-12 win.

The second set saw the Lady Rams continue to roll as the team opened with a 14-3 run. The Bulldogs would battle back, cutting the WSSU lead down to five points, 16-11. However, a 5-2 WSSU run would seal the Lady Rams' set win.

In third set, the Lady Rams found themselves locked in a tougher battle as the team fought to a 13-13 tie. However, the Lady Rams were able to close out the set 9-3 run.
