Lady Rams Battle, Fall Short to Chowan Hawks

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (6-7, 6-3 CIAA) gave a great effort, but fell short in a four-set loss to the Chowan Hawks (7-4, 7-0 CIAA). The team had a strong showing, but could not stand up to the aggressive Chowan offense in the tough loss.

WSSU senior hitter Ashley Harris led the way for the Lady Rams with 11 kills, but committed nine attack errors. Senior middle blocker Georgette Allen added four kills and a season-high three service aces in the match. Sophomore Kiara Brown coordinated the WSSU attack with a double-double 27 assists and 11 digs. She also added a block assist.
