CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (7-9, 7-3 CIAA) turned up their efforts to pick up at three-set road win over the Johnson C. Smith Lady Golden Bulls (4-14, 2-9 CIAA), Tuesday evening. Powered by a stellar overall effort, the Lady Rams rolled to the win 25-22, 25-16, and 25-19.
The Lady Rams played well both offensively and defensively, totaling 15 service aces while holding the Lady Golden Bulls to just 17 total kills in the match. WSSU freshman hitter Brittany Rich led the effort with six service aces while fellow freshman hitter Lauren Aikens added five service aces. Junior middle blocker De Ann Smith led the WSSU attack with nine kills. Aikens also added six kills as well.
