Box Score HAMPTON, VA - The Winston-Salem State University Rams baseball picked up two Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) baseball honors this week when Outfielder, Ray Crawford, and utility player, Levi Grassley, were named CIAA Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for their performances on the diamond last week.
Ray Crawford (Jr, UTIL, 6-0, 195, Greensboro, NC/UNC-Greensboro) had a monster week for the WSSU Rams, hitting for a .522 average, with three home runs and 12 runs batted in. Crawford also had a slugging % of 1.000 and scored six runs in leading Winston-Salem State to a 4-2 week.
Levi Grassley (Sr, UTIL, 6-1, 210, Cameron, MO/Indian Hills CC) had a solid week defensively for the Rams, with 29 putouts and four assists with no errors while playing multiple infield positions.
WSSU will host Catawba for Senior Day, tonight, April 8, 2014 at BB&T Ballpark in downtown Winston-Salem. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
The Rams will travel to Hickory, NC on tomorrow, to take on the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears.
Winston-Salem State can wrap up the CIAA Regular Season title if they take three of four games from The Lincoln University Tigers this weekend in Lincoln, PA.
