Box Score RICHMOND, VA – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (2-4, 2-0 CIAA) kept up their strong play in their second match of the day when the team took an impressive three-set road win over the Virginia Union Panthers. With the win, the Lady Rams remain perfect in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association play.
The Lady Rams won all three sets in impressive fashion, 25-12, 25-14, and 25-18. The team took the win behind a stellar overall effort that saw the team notch 32 kills with just 11 attack errors while allowing just 15 kills to the Panthers. The Lady Rams benefitted from some Panther struggles as well as the home team recorded 29 attack errors in the match. The Lady Rams also added seven service aces in the match as well.
WSSU freshman outside hitter Sydney Holland continued her strong play over the weekend when she recorded a team-high 10 kills with no attack errors. Senior outside hitter Jenna Baranowski added seven kills of her own. Senior setter Kayla Brass added 23 assists and five service aces as well.
