CHARLOTTE, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (6-7, 6-2 CIAA) closed out the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Volleyball Round-Up in style when they took an impressive three-set win over the Chowan Hawks. The Lady Rams took the win in impressive fashion, 25-20, 25-17, and 28-26. While the Lady Rams' defense shone on the opening day of the event, the WSSU offense was the order of the day on Sunday morning.

It was a powerful offensive effort that took the Lady Rams to the win as the team totaled 44 kills in the match with just 18 attack errors. The team also added seven service aces. Though the Lady Rams' offense stole the show, the effort did not overshadow a solid defensive effort as the Lady Rams totaled 49 digs with 19 total blocks (one solo). WSSU freshman Sydney Holland drove the Lady Rams to the win with a career-high 20 kills in the match. Junior right side hitter Olivia Owens added a double-double effort with 10 kills and 10 digs in the match. She also added a pair of block assists.
