Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams (0-3) faded late in a tough three-set loss to the Brevard College Tornados (4-0). The Lady Rams showed some great fight early in a hard-fought 24-26 first set loss, but the team struggled in the final two sets with 17-25 and 13-25 respective losses in the final two sets.
The first set was especially tough for the Lady Rams as the team saw an 11-3 lead disappear with seven unanswered points allowed to the Tornados. The disappointing opening set loss lingered on the Lady Rams as the team fell 17-25 in the second set and the team took a 13-25 loss in the final set. Attack errors plagued the Lady Rams as the team's 26 total kills were countered by 21 attack errors.
WSSU junior right side Olivia Owens led the way for the Lady Rams with nine kills in the match. Freshman outside hitter Sydney Holland added seven kills.
