WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team fell to St. Augustine's Thursday night, 0-3 (21-25, 19-25, 18-25) inside Whitaker Gymnasium.
The Rams are now (8-10, 4-6 CIAA), while SAU improves to (5-4, 5-4 CIAA).

The Rams opened set one on a 4-2 scoring run, but the Falcons answered back tying the set at 4-all and the set went back and forth with both teams exchanging points throughout the set. After the match was tied at 20, SAU finished the set on a 5-1 scoring run to take the set 25-21 and lead the match 1-0.
SAU started set two on a 2-0 scoring run, and the Rams answered back to tie the set and keep the match evenly matched throughout. Tied at 14 apiece, SAU went on a 7-0 scoring run to go up 20-14. The Rams scored five more points but eventually, SAU finished the set on a 5-1 run to take set two, 25-19, and lead the match 2-0.
Set three was intense with the Rams leading 10-6 to force an SAU timeout. After the timeout, the momentum swayed in favor of the Falcons as they tied the match at 10 and then took the lead and eventually won the set 25-18 and the match 3-0.
