Box Score WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team picked up its first win of the season defeating Clinton College Thursday night inside Whitaker Gymnasium.
The Rams move to 1-1 on the season after winning the match 25-21, 25-16, and 25-11 to earn the sweep over the Golden Bears.
In the first set, it was five lead changes and nine ties, but the Rams finished the set on 4-0 run to take the set, 25-21 and lead the match 1-0.
With three lead changes and six ties the Rams capitalized on 10 kills and a 15-5 run to finish the second set at 25-16 and a commanding 2-0 score going into set three.
WSSU scored the first three points in set three and never looked back. With 11 kills in the set, they finished with a final score of 25-11 and took the match 3-0.
Winston-Salem State University volleyball is back in action this weekend, September 3-4, competing in the HBCU battle between Benedict College, Clark Atlanta and Edward Waters in Jacksonville, Florida.
