WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winson-Salem State University volleyball team will hit the road for the first time this season competing in the HBCU Volleyball Invitational, hosted by Edward Waters in Jacksonville, Florida. The Rams will open the weekend competing against Benedict College on September 3rd, and then Clark Atlanta and EWU on September 4th inside the Adams-Jenkins Complex.

Scouting Benedict College
The Tigers open their season with the Rams. They were picked to finish third in the SIAC All-Conference Preseason poll. Cana Smith and Kaiah Green were named to the All-Conference team.
Scouting Clark Atlanta
The Panthers opened their season in the Erskine Fall Tournament August 26-27. They fell to Erskine College, Young Harris College, and Shorter University in three straight sets.
Scouting Edward Waters
EWU opened their season in the Hilltopper Classic, hosted by St. Edward's University August 26-27. The Lady Tigers dropped both games of their action on Day One, 3-0 to Harding and 3-0 vs. Barry. EWU opened Day Two action on Sunday falling in straight sets, 3-0 to Dallas Baptist, but rallied to salvage a win in five sets, 3-2 against host school St. Edward's.
