Men’s Basketball to Play in HBCU Tip-Off Challenge

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball will play in the Chris Paul HBCU Tip-Off Challenge in Uncasville, Connecticut, on Saturday, November 18th and Sunday, November 19th. The Rams will face Tuskegee University on Saturday night, tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Rams defeated the University of Mount Olive 88-68 in their home opener. Jaylen Alston led all scorers with 31 points with six rebounds, while Isaac Parson added 20 points and eight rebounds, Ketron "KC" Shaw scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.
 
Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back seven returners from last year's team, sophomores Jeremy Dixon, Ketron "KC Shaw, juniors Ralph Bland, Stefon McLead, Isaac Parson, senior Jaylen Alston, and graduate student Jaylin Parker.
 
Ram Newcomers:
The Rams welcomed newcomers Lance Gill, Myles Pettis, Antonio Perkins, Camyl Witherspoon, Devon Bristow, Daylin Brandon, Tristan Davis, Tyrhe Fortney, Jahnarious Snell, Clint Wickliffe, and Imajae Dodd.
 
CIAA Preseason:
Isaac Parson was named to the All-CIAA preseason team Backcourt and Jaylen Alston was named to the All-CIAA Frontcourt team. Overall, the Rams were selected to finish fourth in the season poll and third in the Southern Division.
 
Scouting Report
Winston-Salem State University (2-1, 0-0 CIAA). The Rams are led in points by Jaylen Alston with 19.7 points per game and Isaac Parson 19 points. The Rams are averaging 77 points a game.
 
Tuskegee University (0-2, 0-0 SIAC) fell to Shorter 91-62 on Saturday, November 11th in the Crossover Challenge. Martez Jones led the Golden Tigers with 25 points, while Kusamae Draper scored 17 points. Jones is also the leading scorer for Tuskegee with 15.5 points and Draper with 14 points. The Golden Tigers are averaging 63.5 points a game.
