Uncasville, C.T. – The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team defeated Tuskegee University 65-59 to advance to the Chris Paul HBCU Challenge championship game. The Rams will take on Virginia Union tomorrow, Sunday, November 19th at 6:00 p.m.
The Rams improved to 3-1, 0-0 CIAA).
Jaylen Alston led the Rams with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Imajae Dodd added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Jeremy Dixon scored 10 points
; Jaylin Parker chipped with nine points as he went 3-5 from the three-point line

The Rams shot 24-of-52 from the field. They scored 28 points in the paint and 12 points off turnovers, 23 second-chance points, and 20 bench points.
Early in was a defensive battle by the first media timeout the score was 3-2 Rams. The Rams got hot and went on a 6-0 run capped out by a
Jaylen Alston lay-up making the score 15-6 with 9:21 left in the first half. The Golden Bears closed out the half on a 10-0 run, as the score at the half was 27-22 Golden Bears.
In the second half, it was a back-and-forth battle by the Rams and Golden Bears, as there were 11 lead changes. The Rams extended the lead to four on a lay-up by J
aylen Alston giving the Rams a 52-48 lead with 6:52 left. The Golden Bears cut the lead to one, as
Imajae Dodd hit two big free-throws to make the score 58-55 with 2:37 left. The Rams closed out the game with a 7-2 run.
WSSU will be back in action competing in the Chris Paul HBCU Tip-off Championship game, on Sunday, November 19th. The Rams will face off with conference foe Virginia Union. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. inside Mohegan Sun Arena.
