Rams Football Falls Short in Overtime to Fayetteville State Saturday Afternoon

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C- The Winston-Salem State University football team dropped a high-scoring contest to Fayetteville State Saturday afternoon inside Luther Nick Jeralds Stadium.
 
The Rams finished the season (4-6, 4-5 CIAA).
 
How it Happened
  • Asa Barnes had a rushing touchdown to put the Rams up 7-0 with 11:48 to play in the first quarter.
  • FSU fumbled the ball, and it was recovered by Gabriel Ballard with 10:32 to play in the first quarter.
  • Jobanni Esparza had a 26-yard field goal to put the Rams up 10-0 with 7:25 to play in the first quarter.
  • FSU threw an interception to Justin Fleming at the 35-yard line with 6:27 to play in the first.
  • Noah Marshall scored a 2-yard rushing touchdown, the extra point was good, and the Rams led 17-0 with 4:17 to play in the quarter.
  • FSU scored a touchdown with 1:59 to play in the quarter. Rams 17- Broncos - 7
  • Daylin Lee threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Kaleb Washington, the extra point was good, and the Rams led 24-7 with 45 seconds left in the quarter.
