WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Highlighted by three tri-matches and a tournament, the Winston-Salem State University volleyball team has announced its 2023 schedule.

Kicking off the season the Rams will travel to Lane College to play in the Dragon Classic on August 31- September 2nd. Following the classic, WSSU will participate in its first tri-match hosted by UNCP featuring Chowan and UNCP on September 16th. To close out the month the Rams will travel to Shaw (Sept. 19), Fayetteville (Sept. 25), and the CIAA Roundup hosted by Virginia State September 30-October 1st.

The Rams will host their first home match on October 3rd against Erskine. CIAA opponent St. Augustine's comes to Whitaker Gym on October 5th. On October 7th, WSSU will compete in another tri-match hosted by Ferrum with Carolina University. On the ninth, the Rams head to Charlotte to take on Johnson C. Smith University then head home to host Emory and Henry on the 10th. The second CIAA round-up will take place on the campus of Elizabeth City on October 14-15. WSSU will host Livingstone on the 19th and then travel to Mars Hill (Oct. 21) and St. Augustine's (Oct. 23). October 26, the Rams welcome the Panthers from Claflin to Whitaker before competing in their final tri-match hosted by St. Andrews on the 28th. To end the month Winston will host Johnson C. Smith. November rolls in with a home match versus Shaw on the first. The ladies then compete on the second at Livingstone and the sixth at Claflin in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Senior night will be the ninth against Fayetteville.

Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play begins with the quarterfinals on November 14th with the higher seed hosting on their campus. The semi-finals and championship will occur on the campus of Bowie State University on November 18 and 19, respectively.

All conference matches are scheduled for 6 pm EST and times of non-conference matches are still to be determined.
