WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team edged out Livingstone College 3-2, inside New Trent Gym.
The Rams moved to 5-8 (4-3 CIAA) on the season.

In set two, with the score 7-4 Livingstone, the Blue Bears went on a 4-0 run taking an 11-4 lead. Down 24-20, the Rams went on a 4-0 run tying the game at 24-24 on a Livingstone bad set. The Rams closed the set on a 4-2 run, taking set two 28-26 and tying the match 1-1.
In set three, the Blue Bears came out on an 8-2 run. Down 16-12 the Rams went on a 5-0 run, taking a 17-16 lead on a Blue Bears attack error. With the score 20-18, the Rams closed out set three on a 5-0 run and a
Lexis Tatum kill, taking set three 25-20 and leading the match 2-1.
In set four, with the score tied 4-4, the Blue Bears went on a 3-0 run taking a 7-4 lead. Down 17-14, the Rams went on a 3-0 run, tying the game at 17-17 on a
Lexis Tatum kill. The Blue Bears eventually took set four 25-19 and forced a fifth set.
In set five, the Rams took an early 3-1 lead on a
Kamiyah Wilson kill. The Blue Bears went on a 7-0 run, taking an 8-3 lead. The Rams answered back with a 4-0 run, making the score 8-7 on a Blue Bears error. Our Lady Rams tied the game at 11-11 on a Blue Bears error. The Rams closed out the set on a 4-1 run, taking set five 15-12.

The Rams will travel to Rock Hill, South Carolina on October 19th, to participate in a tri-match hosted by Clinton College. The Rams will take on Pensacola Christian College at 1:00 p.m. then, will return later on that day, taking on Clinton College at 3:00 p.m. Both matches will take place inside J.W. Martin Gymnasium.
