ETTRICK, VA – The Winston-Salem State University volleyball team took all three matches this weekend at the second CIAA Round-up. First sweeping both Virginia Union University and Lincoln University (Pa.) 3-0, on Saturday October 26th, then defeating Bowie State 3-1 on Sunday October 27th. 

The Rams moved to 11-8 (6-3 CIAA).

How It Happened vs. Virginia Union  University (25-21, 25-19, 25-17)
The Rams went on a 3-0 run taking a 3-2 lead, on a Kamiyah Wilson kill. Later, in the set the Rams extended their lead to 12-6, on a Lexis Tatum kill. The Panthers went on a 3-0 run making the score 19-15. The Rams took set one 25-21. 

In set two, the Rams took an early 6-2 lead on a Panthers error. The Rams extended their lead to 14-8, on a Janai Tillman kill. The Rams closed out the set on a 5-0 run, taking set two 25-19. 

In set three, with the score 11-10 Panthers the Rams went on 3-0 run taking a 13-10 lead. The Rams then went on a 5-0 run, taking a 18-12 lead on a Lexis Tatum kill. The Panthers answered back with a 3-0 run, making the score 18-15, The Rams closed out the set on a 7-2 run, taking set three 25-17.

How It Happened vs. Lincoln University (Pa.)  (25-21, 25-19, 25-12)
In the set one, with the score 7-6, the Rams went on a 5-0 run taking a 12-6 lead. With the Rams up 15-9, the Lions went on a 3-0 run cutting the score to 15-12. The Rams answered back with a 3-0 run, extending their lead to 18-12 on a Lions attack error. The Rams took set one 25-21. In set two, the Rams took an early 9-3 lead on a Malani Martin kill. The Ram extended their lead 17-9 on a Lions attack error.  The Rams extended their 22-13 on a Lions attack error.  The Rams took set two 25-19. 

In set three, the Rams went on a 6-0 run taking a 11-4 lead on a Lexis Tatum kill.  The Rams went on another 6-0 run, making the score 18-5 on a Tiara Lindsey kill. The Rams took set three 25-12.

How It Happened vs. Bowie State University (25-19, 25-13, 25-21, 25-17)
In the set one, the Rams jumped out to an early 7-1 lead, on a Bulldogs error. The Bulldogs went on a 4-0 run to tie the game at 15-15. The Rams answered back with a 5-0 run, taking a 21-16 lead on a Bulldogs attack error. The Rams took set one 25-19. In set two, the Rams began on a 7-1 run on a Bulldogs attack error. The Rams went on a 3-0 run, giving them a 18-10 lead on an Aria Caldwell kill. The Rams took set two 25-13.

In set three, the Bulldogs jumped out to an early 5-1 lead. Later the Bulldogs extended their lead to 17-8. The Rams answered back with a 6-0 making the score 21-17, on a Bulldogs error. The Bulldogs took set three 25-19. In set four, the Bulldogs began on a 9-2 run. As the Rams quickly answered back with a 4-0 Alayna Pruitt kill, cutting the score down to 9-6. The Rams came back on an 11-0 run, taking the 21-14 lead on a Brooke Norwood ace. The Rams would take set four 25-17.
