Football Concludes Regular Season, Hosting Fayetteville State for Homecoming

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University football team will wrap up the 2024 regular season hosting  Fayetteville State University, on Saturday, October 26th for Homecoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. inside Bowman Gray Stadium.

The Rams fell to the Golden Bulls 24-15, on Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Daylin Lee went 10-25 with 116 passing yards with a passing touchdown. Jamieson "Jupe" Alston led the Rams in tackles with 11 total tackles. Narique Smith had six total tackles. Smith's biggest play came in the 3rd quarter when he had a pick-six returning it for 37 yards.

Last Time Fayetteville State University vs Johnson C. Smith University
The Broncos defeated Johnson C. Smith University 27-0, on Saturday, November 2nd, 2024. Joe Owens, Jr passed for 24-32 for 233 yards with two total touchdowns. Strayyhor Harris had eight receptions for 95 yards. Caleb Legrand led the Broncos in tackles with seven.

Last Time WSSU vs. Fayetteville State University
The Rams fell to Fayetteville State 40-34 on November 4th, 2023. Daylin Lee went 17-26 for 180 yards and two touchdown passes. Asa Barnes on eight attempts rushed for 57 yards and a rushing touchdown.  Noble Joyner & Dante Bowlding both led the Rams in tackles with 12.

CIAA Weekly Awards
Justin Fleming was named Defensive Back of the Week for Week one. Fleming had 14 tackles with 11 being 11 being solo tackles.
Trevon Hester was named Running Back Player of the Week, while teammate Jamieson Alston was named Linebacker of the Week for Week two.
• For the second consecutive week, Trevon Hester was named Running Back Player of the Week for week three, while Keith Quick was named Offensive Lineman of the Week for week three, and Gilberto Lorenzana was named Special Teams Player of the Week for week three.
Dante Bowlding was named CIAA Defensive Back of the Week for Week four. Bowlding recorded seven total tackles, (five solo), and also recorded two assists, 1.0 sack netting three yards, and an interception.
Daylin Lee was named CIAA Quarterback of the Week for week six, while Trevon Hester for the fourth time this season was named Running Back of the Week for week six, and teammate Dakota McLendon was named Offensive Lineman of the Week for week six.
Narique Smith was named CIAA was named the Defensive Back Player of the Week for week eight. Smith had a huge pick-six returning it for 37 yards.
