Men’s Basketball Returns Home to Play Lincoln (Pa.) Monday Night

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University men's basketball team will host Lincoln University (Pa.), for their conference home opener on Monday, January 13th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.

Series Information vs. Lincoln University (Pa.)
Since 2011 the Rams have led the series 10-6 versus the Lions. Last season the Rams defeated the Lions 67-65 on December 16th, 2023. 

Rams Returners:
The Rams brought back four returners from last year's team, sophomore Lance Gill, juniors Stefon McLeod, Jeremy Dixon, and senior Ralph Bland
 
Ram Newcomers:
During the off-season the Rams welcomed 11 newcomers freshman CJ Alston, Khyelle Ingram, Samuel Newkirk, Samuel Hood, redshirt freshman Masuan Moore-Byrant, sophomores Jaiden Thompson, Wesley Tubbs III, juniors Lorenzo Caldwell, Tyre Boykin, Abou Camara and senior Micah Jones.
 
CIAA Preseason/Poll
 Overall, the Rams were selected to finish fifth in the CIAA preseason poll.

CIAA Weekly Awards
•    Khyelle Ingram was named Rookie of the Week for week six. 

Last Time Out
The Rams fell to Elizabeth City State 82-56 on Saturday, January 4th. Tyre Boykin led the Rams with 16 points, followed by Micah Jones with 14 points. 

Scouting Report
The Rams are led in scoring by Micah Jones with 14.7 points a game, followed by Tyre Boykin with 10.5 points. WSSU is averaging 69.6 points per game.

Lincoln University (Pa.) (10-6, 5-0 CIAA)
The Lions fell to Bloomfield College 83-69 on Thursday, January 9th, 2025. The Lions are led in scoring by Bakir Cleveland with 13.9 points followed by Ethan Garita with 13.5 points, and Reggie Hudson with 12.3. Lincoln (Pa.) averages 72.5 points per game.

The men will travel up to Petersburg, Virginia on Thursday, January 16th, taking on Virginia State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the Multipurpose Center.
