BELMONT, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University women's tennis team fell to Belmont Abbey at Reidy Tennis Center on Saturday, February 22.
In doubles, the Rams put up a nice effort. The duo of
Semmie Moore and
Iyana Nickens had a close match against Ryann Benningfield and Davis McSwain winning 7-6. The other pairs,
Kyla Burns and
Brooke Higgins and
Briana Drew and Deziare Black-Macon dropped their contests 6-2 and 6-1, respectively.
In singles,
Semmie Moore dropped both sets, 6-3. In singles 2, 3, and 6
Brooke Higgins,
Kyla Burns and Deziare Black-Macon fell 6-0.
Iyana Nickens scored a point in set one and dropped set two, 6-2.
Briana Drew fell in set three 6-3 and set two, 6-1.
The Rams will be back in action on Thursday, March 6 at Shaw University.
