WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team defeated Johnson C. Smith on senior day at Twin City Ballfield.

The Rams took game one 17-1 in five innings and the Golden Bulls had to forfeit game two moving the Rams to 16-8 (9-3 CIAA, 6-0 South).

How it Happened – Game 1
JCSU scored one run in the top of the first inning. The bats got hot for the Rams as they answered back with three runs in the bottom of the second to take a 3-1 lead. They then scored five runs in the bottom of the third inning to take an 8-1 lead over the Golden Bulls. WSSU added nine more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 17-1 lead.

BreAnna Steele pitched the entire game and had a season-high 8 strikeouts.

How it Happened – Game 2
Both teams scored in the first inning before JCSU had to forfeit the game.

The Rams will be back in action on Friday, April 11 hosting Livingstone College at 1:00 p.m. at Twin City Ballfield.
