ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Winston-Salem State University softball team fought hard but saw its season come to an end during the semifinals of the CIAA championships.
Winston-Salem State finishes the season with an overall record of 21-12.
They started the day defeating Virginia State 8-0 to advance to the next game against Lincoln (Pa). The Rams defeated the Lions 10-6 to advance to take on Claflin University.
In a back-and-forth contest and a rain delay the Panthers of Claflin eventually took the game 8-6 over the Rams.
