Holiday Ellis has been named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Offensive Player of the Week following a seven-match stretch in which she helped lead the Rams to a 5-1 record during the CIAA Round-Up.
Ellis recorded 89 kills, five service aces and 94 points across seven matches from Sept. 28 through Oct. 4. She averaged 12.71 kills and 13.43 points per match while helping WSSU post a 5-1 mark during the conference's annual Round-Up.
The graduate outside hitter delivered three of her top performances during the final three matches of the week.
Ellis recorded a team-high 21 kills, two service aces and 23.0 points in a home victory over Virginia Union on Oct. 4. She followed with 16 kills, one service ace and 17.5 points against Virginia State on Oct. 3.
Against Elizabeth City State on Oct. 2, Ellis recorded 15 kills and 16.0 points as the Rams posted a 3-0 victory.
Following her seven-match performance, Ellis currently ranks third in the CIAA in both kills and points, establishing herself among the conference's top offensive performers.
