WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Winston-Salem State University Athletics has announced the 2026 football schedule, including all game times, home game themes, and recognition days.
The Rams will open the season on the road at Norfolk State University on Saturday, August 29, at 6:00 p.m.
WSSU will return to Bowman Gray Stadium for its home opener against Mars Hill on Saturday, September 5, at 8:00 p.m. The game will feature a Black Out theme, and fans are encouraged to wear black as the Rams celebrate BCBSNC Community Day.
The September 12 match up against Johnson C. Smith University will kick off at 8:00 p.m. and will serve as White Out/Greek Night, along with WSSU Family and Friends Day.
The Rams will then travel to Livingstone College on September 19 for a 6:00 p.m. kickoff before visiting Virginia State University on September 26 at 1:00 p.m. WSSU will have a bye week on October 3.
WSSU will return home on October 10 to face Bowie State University at 1:00 p.m. for the Rep Your Ram Throwback Game. The contest will also serve as the Hall of Fame Game and include the Cheer Block Party.
The October 17 home match up against Bluefield State University will kick off at 1:00 p.m. and will feature the Pink Game, HORN$ Appreciation, and Senior Day.
The Rams will close the road portion of the regular season with back-to-back away games at Lincoln University on October 24 and Elizabeth City State University on October 31. Both games are scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
WSSU will wrap up the regular season home schedule on November 7 against Fayetteville State University at 1:30 p.m. with Paint the City Red for Homecoming.
The 2026 CIAA Football Championship is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, in Durham, North Carolina.
