2012: Had a strong junior season for the Lady Rams…She played in 41 games with 33 starts…She finished the season with a .141 batting average… She also added six RBI…She added 33 put outs with four assists in the WSSU outfield.

2011: Stepped into a much larger role for the team as a junior…She played in 40 games with 39 starts for the Lady Rams…She finished the season with 14 RBI and 17 runs scored…She also added eight-of-eight stolen bases.

2010: Played in 22 games…Finished the season with three hits in 24 at-bats…Had 18 strikeouts…For the season, she had just two fielding errors.

Personal: Shantel will join the Lady Rams softball program this fall as a member of a large, talented class of newcomers this fall…She is a highly decorated player from Southern High School in Durham, North Carolina with a number of high school honors…She earned team MVP honors in 2007-08 and earned all-conference honors in both seasons…She also earned the Softball Coach Award for 2008-2009...She also earned an academic honor, taking home the 2008-09 Principal’s Award…She is a Political Science major and is the daughter of Rodney and Renee Hoskins.
