Biography

2020: Kyra was off to a strong sophomore season before it was cut short. She had a 1-4 singles record and a 1-4 overall record in doubles play as well. 

2019: Kyra had a strong freshman season for the Rams...She finished the season with a 3-10 overall record and a 3-5 record in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play...She also had a 9-6 record in doubles play. 

Personal: Kyra joined the Rams in the fall of 2018...She is a graduate of Southwest Guilford High School where she was a two-time 4A All-Conference selection...She also played volleyball...She was also a star in the classroom where she graduated Cum Laude and she earned a place on the Academic Honor Roll in 2017-17....She is a Pre-Nursing major and she is the daughter of Lisa Matthews and Richard Akande.
