Biography

2014: Grubb batted .276 in 32 games for the rams in the 2014 season…He saw time at both DH and both corner outfield positions. 2014 Highlights: Went two-for-four against Elizabeth City State on 3/30/14… Went two-for-three with a home run against Catawba on 4/1/14…Helped the Rams win their fourth consecutive Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) title going two-for-four in the CIAA championship game on 4/19/14 against Virginia State.

2010 (NORTH CARLOINA A & T UNIVERSITY): Alex batted .276 and appeared in 49 games in 2010 for North Carolina A&T University...He collected 42 hits, 25 runs, six doubles, 31 RBI, and eight home runs.

High School: Alex is from Lexington, N.C. where he played baseball at West Davidson High...He is the all-time home run leader at West Davidson with 23 over his career...He was a three-time All-conference player and eanred conference player of the year honors..He was also named All-County three times and was selected to the all-state.

Personal: Alex is the son of Time and Angie Grubb.

Favorite thing about WSSU Baseball: Team unity and atmosphere.

COACH RITSCHE ON GRUBB: “Alex is our most improved hitter from 2014.  He's lost over 30 lbs and is one our fastest and strongest players now. He is seeing the ball at the plate like never before and has the potential to have a monster season for us in 2015."
