2014: Carlton posted a 6-3 record last year for the Rams as a starting pitcher…In 58.2 innings pitched, he posted a 4.17 ERA with 45 K’s in 15 appearances during the Rams’ 2014 season. 2014 Highlights: Picked up the win against Catawba after going 5.0 innings in relief on 4/1/14… Threw a complete game against Saint Augustine’s only allowing three earned runs on 3/27/14…Went 5.1 innings in the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Tournament against Shepherd allowing no earned runs on 5/15/14.
2013: Jordan stepped in right away as a freshman and was leader for the Rams on the mound last spring. Jordan went 6-1 in over 60 innings pitched for the Rams in 2013 including quality outings in the post-season. 2013 HIGHLIGHTS: Earned a no decision tossing 4 innings while allowing, 2 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, and 4 strike-outs in his first career collegiate appearance against Armstrong Atlantic State University on 2/1/13…tossed 3.2 Innings giving up 4 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, with 4 K’s vs Shepherd University on 2/21/13…Gave up 0 ER’s, 0 BB’s, and fanned 4 hitters over 5 innings in his first collegiate win against Shaw University on 3/9/13…On 3/23/13, Carlton worked 7 innings against CIAA conference opponent Chowan University allowing 2 ER, 2 BB, and striking out 9…Earned the win in the CIAA conference tournament quarterfinal match-up vs Chowan on 4/18/13 tossing 6.1 innings with 4 K, allowing 4 H, and 3 ER…Pitched 6 Innings with 2 strikeouts in an Atlantic Regional win against Concord University on 5/17/13.
HIGH SCHOOL: At Wilkes Central Jordan excelled on both the football and baseball fields……..in football Jordan was named All-Conference for 3 years, most outstanding defensive back, and also holds the school interception record…….in baseball Jordan was named All-Conference for two years, Tournament MVP for two years, and utility player of the year.
PERSONAL: Jordan is the son of Kisha Harris and Terry Carlton……..favorite athletic team is the New York Yankees……..major is Exercise Science……..favorite thing about WSSU Baseball is the team bonding.
COACH RITSCHE ON CARLTON: “Jordan’s ability to command all his pitches allowed him to have tremendous success in his first year as a Ram. He is a top end of the rotation starter but will provide the Rams with late quality innings out of the bullpen if needed in 2014.
