2013 SOPHOMORE SEASON: JR was mainly a reliever late in games for the Rams in 2013 and improved his consistency in in his first year as a Ram. 2013 HIGHLIGHTS: Had 1IP, 2 K, and 0 ER earning his first career win in a Rams uniform against Shepherd University on 2/21/13…Earned a no decision over 4 IP allowing 2 ER with 2 K against St. Andrews on 4/3/13…Went 2.1 innings allowing 0 ER, 1 BB, and struck out 1  in a relief appearance against Elizabeth City State University on 4/14/13…Tossed 3 innings allowing 0 H, 0 BB, and had 4 strikeouts against Concord University on 5/17/13 earning the victory in relief in the NCAA Atlantic Region Tournament.

2012 • FRESHMAN SEASON:  (St. Petersburg Community College):  JR was 1-1 with a 2.7 ERA……..appeared in 13 games and pitched 20 innings, striking out 20 hitters.

HIGH SCHOOL:  JR played baseball at Springstead HS.

PERSONAL: Son of Andrew and Susan Pretorius……..academic major is history……..favorite athlete is Hanley Ramirez…….favorite quote is “Don’t disappoint your teammates and don’t disappoint yourself.”

COACH RITSCHE ON WRIGHT:  “JR needed lots of mechanical changes last season but was able to listen and adapt to our pitching philosophy. JR came up big in our regional victory over Concord University closing the game out in the final 3 innings. With improved command of all 4 of his pitches, he will prove to be a late game asset out of the bullpen again this year.
