2013 FRESHMAN SEASON: Tyler batted .154 in a backup utility infielder role as a freshman in 2013. 2013 HIGHLIGHTS: Collected his first hit and RBI as a Ram on 3/23/13 against Chowan University….Also played catcher in the Rams final CIAA conference regular season game against Elizabeth City State University on 4/13/13 adding an RBI at the plate.

HIGH SCHOOL: Tyler was named All-Conference his senior season and awarded the “Coaches Award”…….2011 high school team finished as conference champions and his 2010 summer legion team finished 5^th in the nation……..made academic honor roll all four years.

PERSONAL: Son of Kelly and Becky Surface……..favorite athlete is Tim Tebow…….favorite thing about WSSU Baseball is BB&T Ballpark.
