2011 • JUNIOR SEASON:  ‘Wes’ provided depth out of the bullpen in his junior season while making several starts for the Rams in 2011….. appeared in 15 games and threw 1 complete game….was 3-3 in 60.2 innings while striking out 68 hitters…..2011 HIGHLIGHTS:  struck out 9 and walked only 1 batter in 5.2 innings in a 7-6 win over Elizabeth City on 2/27/11…..beat Augusta State on 3/23/11 with 4 K’s, 5 hits and 2 ER’s in 7.0 innings…..got the win vs. Virginia State on 4/10/11 pitching 3.2 innings giving up 1 ER on no hits and striking out 9 hitters…..picked up the win in the CIAA quarterfinal game vs. Chowan pitching 6.0 innings and striking out 4 hitters…..

HIGH SCHOOL: was an honor student at Mcquaid Jesuit High School and a dual sport athlete participating in basketball and baseball……named All-Conference on the basketball court leading his team to a conference title……was a 1st team All-Conference selection in baseball helping the Knights win a conference championship and make it to the sectional title game…...

PERSONAL: Exercise Science major……born on 5/3/1989……parents are Allen and Debra Edwards.

COACH RITSCHE ON EDWARDS: “Wes is the most athletic kid I’ve coached at any level.  He was a “workhorse” for us last season pitching over 60 innings and will be relied upon a lot this spring out of the bullpen and as a starter in certain situations.  He has so much movement on his pitches that it got him in trouble last season but since then he’s made mechanical adjustments and when he is on, his off-speed pitches are untouchable.  He’s a great vocal leader and pushes his teammates consistently.”
