Winston-Salem State University (WSSU) Director of Athletics Etienne Thomas has announced the hiring of Kerry Harbor as its Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. 
"I am excited to welcome Kerry back home to WSSU and to provide our student-athletes with an expert in the field of strength and conditioning who believes in doing his part to Graduate Champions, thru nutrition, fitness, strength, and mental health and well being."

No stranger to the Rams, Harbor returns to WSSU as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach after completing his 2nd term of service at  at Ronald Reagan Wilson High School in Pfafftown, North Carolina, where Harbor served as the Head Strength Coach, assistant football coach and instructor since 2013.

Prior to Regan, Harbor served as the Head Strength Coach at Delaware State University from 2012-13 after  serving as the Head Strength Coach at Winston-Salem State University 2010-11 and North Carolina A&T State University in 2006.Harbor previously served at UNC-Chapel Hill as a graduate assistant strength coach from 1999-2000, and an assistant strength coach for the football team from 2007-2010. He also served as an assistant strength coach working with several teams at the University of Illinois from 2000-04.

Kerry Harbor possesses a wealth of experience in the areas of strength and conditioning and coaching and has held assistant football coaching positions at West Brunswick High School in Shallotte, N.C. (2004-05) and previously at Ronald Reagan High School (2005-06). He also served as an assistant track and field coach while at West Brunswick High School.

Coach Harbor began his coaching career at North Carolina Central University working as an assistant football coach under former Head Coach Larry Little following graduation.

A 1997 graduate of North Carolina Central University, Harbor was a member of the Eagles' football team at NCCU under head coach and NFL Hall of Fame honoree, Larry Little.

He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.  He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, National High School Strength Coaches Association, and the African American Performance Coaches Association.

Coach Harbor has two children Thomas and Donice "Gracie" Harbor.
