Malcolm Gaither is entering his sixth season with the Rams and he serves as the running back, tight ends and fullbacks coach with the Winston-Salem State University. His passion and his knowledge of the game are key factors in the success of the Rams’ rushing attack.
Gaither joined the Rams' staff with an impressive coaching resume. He began his coaching career at nearby Grimsley Senior High School. While at Grimsley High, Gaither coached receivers and he also served as the junior varsity head coach. From there, Gaither moved on to serve as running backs/receivers coach at T. Wingate Andrews High School. During the 2018 season, he went on to become the offensive coordinator for the Red Raiders.
In addition to serving as a leader and teacher on the gridiron, Gaither is also a leader in the classroom at T. Wingate Andrews High School where he is an EC inclusion teacher working primarily with math courses. Prior to beginning his teaching career, Gaither worked as an Account Sales Manager with the Red Bull Distributing Company. His track team won the 2023 2A Men's Outdoor Championship and 2024 1A/2A Indoor Track and Field Championship.
it was through a terrific playing career, that Gaither developed his passion and knowledge of the game. He was an all-conference player at West Rowan High School before continuing his career at nearby Greensboro College. He competed for four seasons with the Pride.
Gaither is a 2012 graduate of Greensboro College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Sports Studies with a concentration in Sports Administration. He is currently pursing Master of Science degree in Sport Management from Western Carolina University.
