Biography

2019-20: Robert capped his career with a fantastic senior season for the Rams. He finished the season as the fifth highest scoring player in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), averaging 16.9 points per game. He played in all 29 games with 23 starts. During the season, he moved into the top ten scoring career scoring list for WSSU men's basketball. His best game of the season came against Johnson C. Smith when he scored 31 points in the game. He also scored at least 20 points in 13 games last season. He also scored 28 points at Lincoln (Pa.). For his efforts, Robert was selected for the 2019-20 CIAA All-Conference team, the 2020 CIAA All-Tournament team, and he was named the 2020 CIAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament MVP. He was also named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District team as well as being named a BOXTOROW All-American. 

2018-19: Robert stepped up his efforts to become one of the top players in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) during his junior season. He played in all 27 games with 26 starts. He finished the season as the Rams' leading scorer, averaging 15.5 points per game. He had eight games scoring at least 20 points, inclduing scoring a career-high 34 points at Bowie State. For his efforts, he earned Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) All-Conference honors. He was also a BOXTOROW D2 All-America Selection. 

2017-18: Robert followed up his strong freshman season with a solid sophomore season. He played in 22 games with eight starts. He finished the season averaging 15.9 points per game. He was 44-of-134 from the three-point line and he totaled 349 points for the season.He scored a season-high 29 points against Elizabeth City State. 

2016-17: Robert had a great freshman season…He played in all 27 games with 20 starts…He finished the season as the team’s leading scorer, totaling 475 points and averaging 17.6 points per game to rank second in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA)…He also ranked fourth in the conference in three-point shooting a 38.5% (67-of-174)…His best game of the season came against Livingstone when he scored a career-high 35 points, including hitting five three-pointers…He also scored at least 20 points in 12 total games…For his efforts, he was honored as the CIAA Rookie of the Year.

Personal: Joined the Rams in the fall of 2016…He is a 2016 graduate of Northside High School where he was ranked among the top 50 in the class of 2016 for the state of North Carolina…He was a first team All-District Selection two years in a row and was named MVP of the Christmas tournament…He was also the Fab 40 Camp MVP…He holds Northside High school records for three-pointers made in a season and for a career…He is a Physical Education major and he is the son of Tina and Luis Colon.
