In the fall of 2021, the Winston-Salem State University Rams golf program took a giant step forward with the addition of head coach Charles Penny, II. With a wealth of knowledge of the game, Penny, II will look the guide the Rams’ golf program to new heights.
Coach Penny, II comes to Winston-Salem State University with an impressive resume. Prior to joining the staff at Winston-Salem State University, Penny, II, worked at GOLFTEC, one of the largest employers of Professional Golf Association (PGA) instructors. While with GOLFTEC, Penny, II, served on the Diversity and Inclusion Task Force as Co-Chair of Marketing, Brand, and image for GOLFTEC. Coach Penny also brings some playing experience to our program. Coach Penny made his debut on the Advocates Professional Golf Association Tour (APGA Tour) back in February of this year, playing in 9 of 12 events. Coach Penny looks to share his gained experiences with his student-athletes.
Coach, Penny, II, and his wife LaTonya, are the proud parents of a set of twin boys and a girl.
