Biography

2015: Melissa had a great freshman season with the Rams…She was one of three WSSU players to play in all 45 games…She finished the season with a .271 batting average and added 17 RBI and 16 runs scored…She also added three doubles with two triples…Defensively, she had a .991 fielding percentage and turned a double play…She also caught three runner stealing.

Personal: Melissa is one of many talented newcomers to join the Lady Rams in the fall of 2014…She is a 2014 graduate of James A. Garfield High School and is a native of Los Angeles, California…In high school, she earned numerous honors, including being named the 2013 Defensive Player of the Year and earning All-Eastern League honors in three of her four years of play…She earned second team All-Eastern League honors in 2012 and was first team All-Eastern League team in both 2013 and 2014…She is a Psychology major and the daughter of Arnulfo and Diana Carillo.
