Personal:
Ah’kiyah Pye, a dynamic 5’5 guard from Hanover, Virginia, enters the 2025–26 season as a redshirt freshman for Winston-Salem State University. Known for her electric play style and crafty ball-handling—earning her the nickname “Baby Kyrie”—Kiyah brings a competitive edge and high basketball IQ to the Rams’ backcourt.

Before arriving at WSSU, she starred at Highland Springs High School, where she averaged an impressive 18 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals per game as the Springers’ starting point guard. Her standout performances earned her 3x First Team All-Region, 2x First Team All-State (5A), First Team All-Metro, and three Christmas Tournament MVP honors, solidifying her place among Virginia’s top high school guards. She also excelled academically, consistently earning A/B Honor Roll recognition.

Kiyah spent her first collegiate season at Virginia Union University before transferring to WSSU. Her most memorable moment came when Coach Terry offered her the opportunity to join the Rams family—even while she was recovering from injury—an act of trust and belief that continues to fuel her drive.

A psychology major with aspirations for the future, Kiyah is known off the court for her love of hooping, her loyalty to NBA YoungBoy, and her unwavering self-confidence. With her toughness, creativity, and passion for the game, Ah’kiyah Pye is poised to make a strong impact on the WSSU women’s basketball program.
