Biography
2012-13: McKenzie broke out in her sophomore season...Sheplayed in all 28 games with 16 starts for the Lady Rams...Her besteffort of her career came against the Shaw Lady Bears when shepoured in a career-high 13 points with four rebounds and fivesteals...She played a career-high 35 minutes at Livingstone....Sheled the team in free throw percentage, connecting on 52-of-56 freethrows for a .929 percentage.
2011-12: Vanessahad a great freshman season where she provided some much neededquality play at the point guard position…She played in all28 games for the Lady Rams…Her contribution to the team wasfar more than what the statistics demonstrated…Her best gameof the season came against the Shaw Lady Bears with a career-highseven points against the eventual NCAA Division II NationalChampions…She also recorded a career-high four assistsagainst Lincoln (Pa.).
Personal: Vanessajoined the Lady Rams in the fall of 2011 when she looked tocontribute to an already talented WSSU backcourt…She is a2011 graduate of Southside High School in Greenville, SouthCarolina where she earned numerous high school honors…Duringher career, she helped the Tigers amass a 24-3 record during hersenior season…For her efforts, she was honored as the teamMVP and was awarded the team’s Best Offense Award…Shealso earned a spot on the all-region and the all-stateteams…She was also named to the annual North/South All-StarGame…She is an English major and the daughter of WilliamWeston and Rosylin Weston.
