Coach Shana-Ann Caballes joined the Rams in the Spring of 2023.
Coach Shana-Ann Caballes brings a decade of dedicated coaching experience and a proven record of athletic excellence to the track and field arena. Specializing in throws, she has spent 10 years developing high-performing athletes, mentoring state champions, and guiding numerous throwers to continue their careers at NCAA Division I and Division II programs.
A dynamic and passionate leader, Coach Shana is known for her ability to communicate clearly, motivate effectively, and build strong relationships with her athletes. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes technical mastery, strength development, and goal-oriented training programs tailored to each individual’s needs.
During her tenure at West Forsyth High School (2014–2024), she led shot put and discus athletes to consistent success, collaborating with the full coaching staff to support both the boys’ and girls’ programs. She implemented targeted strength and conditioning plans that increased overall team performance by 20% and worked closely with sports medicine personnel to prioritize injury prevention and athlete wellness.
In addition to her coaching expertise, Coach Shana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and a Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia, bringing a unique understanding of anatomy, physiology, and injury management to her training approach.
