Personal: Leigh Wills begins her freshman season with the Winston-Salem State University track & field and cross country program after an accomplished prep career at Millbrook High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. A versatile sprinter and middle-distance runner, Wills posted personal bests of 57.86 in the 400m, 2:23.09 in the 800m, 1:17.91 in the 500m, and 41.79 in the 300m, while also clocking 26.64 in the 200m. During her senior indoor season, Wills placed sixth in the 500m at the 2024 NCHSAA 4A Indoor State Championship and was a multiple-time regional qualifier, earning recognition throughout her high school career as Most Improved Cross Country Runner (2023), Most Valuable Sophomore XC Runner (2023), Most Valuable Sprinter (2024), and Most Valuable Track Athlete (2025). She was also a three-time varsity letterwinner across cross country and track and a nine-time All-Academic Conference selection, graduating in the top 15% of her class. Off the track, Wills is majoring in Elementary Education and aspires to become a Kindergarten or 1st Grade teacher. She cites her parents as her biggest inspiration and enjoys crocheting and scrapbooking in her free timeHer favorite professional team is the Golden State Warriors, and she looks up to Olympic 800m champion Athing Mu
