Biography

2019-20: Wilma continued her strong collegiate career before the 2020 outdoor track & field season was canceled. She remained one of the team's top long sprinters with some great performances. She ran a season-best 25.41 in the women's 200m dash at the 2020 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Womens Indoor Track & Field Championship Meet. She also ran a 58.49 in the women's 400m dash at the meet as well. 

2018-19:  Wilma had a strong sophomore season with the Rams. She was a member of the Rams’ 4x400m relay that that qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships as well as having a great individual season…She placed sixth in the women’s 400m dash at the 2019 CIAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a 56.74. She also seventh in the women’s 200m dash with a 25.77. Her best time of the outdoor season came at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational when she placed seventh with a 25.14 in the women’s 200m dash. She placed fourth in the women’s 400m dash as the Terrier Relays with a 57.82.

2017-18: Wilma had a solid freshman season with the Rams. She competed in long sprints and the relay teams for the Rams. During the indoor season, she placed eighth in the women's 400m run with a 1:00.82 at the CIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. She ran a 58.70 to place 13th at the Camel City Invitational. She ran a 58.32 at the Liberty Kick Off. During the outdoor season, she ran a 24.76 to place 26th at the Aggie Invitational last season... She also placed 12th in the women's 400m dash at the event with a 56.23. Her best finish of the outdoor season came at the Terrier Relays hosted by Wofford when she ran a 55.13 in the women's 400m run to finish second in the event.

Personal: Wilma joined the Rams in the fall of 2017…She is a 2017 graduate of Grimsley High School in nearby Greensboro, N.C…During her high school career, she was named the team MVP and earned the team’s Coaches’ Award…She was also named team Most Improved…She is an Exercise Science major and she is the daughter of Tonia and Will Burton.
