Biography

Personal:
Celina “Cece” Johnson is a freshman setter for the Winston-Salem State University volleyball program, majoring in Business. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Johnson graduated from Reservoir High School, where she starred as a setter and right side hitter under coach Carole Ferrante. A standout leader on the court, she served as a senior varsity captain and helped guide Reservoir to regional championships, state semifinal and quarterfinal appearances. Johnson earned First Team All-County and All-Metro Second Team honors for her performance, establishing herself as one of the top players in the region.
In the classroom, Johnson excelled with a 4.21 weighted GPA, maintaining a 4.0 unweighted during her senior year, and received multiple principal’s honor awards. Her leadership extended beyond competition; she spent all four years of high school coaching and mentoring younger volleyball players in her community. Johnson is driven by her passion for business and marketing and looks forward to developing her skills both academically and athletically at WSSU. Off the court, she enjoys hanging out with friends and shopping, and she roots for the Dallas Cowboys — with Ceedee Lamb as her favorite athlete. She lists her most memorable athletic moment as winning regionals during her senior season — a moment that reflects her competitive spirit, leadership, and commitment to teamwork.
