Bethany Henry joined the Winston-Salem State University volleyball staff in August 2022.
“Having Coach Henry join our staff has been a great, refreshing addition to the program,” said head coach Chanel Davis. “She brings a very energetic and dedicated devotion of the game to our players. From having a great collegiate career and a strong background of the game, it is truly a blessing and privilege to work alongside someone who shares a love of the game who has the best interest of our student-athletes in their overall development. The Wilmington, N.C. native majored in Psychology and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.91-grade point average in December 2021 from Virginia State.
Henry was a member of Virginia State's Honors Program and The National Society of Leadership and Success. As well as a member of the International Honor Society in Psychology from 2020-2021, where she served as the chapter president in 2021.
Henry is pursuing a career as a sports psychologist. She also worked as an assistant in the Trojans' athletic department and interned with the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) conference for the 2022 CIAA Basketball Tournament.
Henry played volleyball at Virginia State University from 2018 to 2021, where she was a first-team All-CIAA selection in 2021. She finished her final season with 103 kills, 49 total blocks, and 44 digs.
The CIAA and its Senior Woman Administrators (SWA) Association sub-committee have recently selected Bethany Henry as the 2022 CIAA Woman of the Year.
