2013: Katie followed a sold freshman season with a strong sophomore campaign…She gave the team some much-needed depth at the Libero position…She played in 19 matches with 11 total sets…She finished the season with 17 total digs.

2012: Katie had a solid freshman season for the Lady Rams as a key member of the WSSU defense at the libero position…She saw time in 32 of the team’s 35 total matches…She finished the season with 191 total digs and four kills…She also added 25 service aces with nine assists.

Personal: Katie will join the Lady Rams in the fall of 2012 after successful high school career…She is a 2012 graduate North Forsyth High School right here in Winston-Salem, North Carolina…She spent the majority of her playing her career at Union Grove Christian School…She was a four-year starter both at Union Grove and at North Forsyth…She was a member of the 2009 2A NCOSA All-State team at Union Grove and was chosen as the best defensive player from 2008-11…She was also named the best overall player at Union Grove  in 2009…In addition to playing for her high school teams, she also played on the Junior Olympic Circuit witht eh High Rock Volleyball Club…She led her team to the Junior Olympic Regional Championship in 2011 and was named to the Junior Olympic Regional All-Tournament team…Also a star in the classroom, McDaniel also earned several academic honors as well…She was an honor graduate of North Forsyth High School and a Junior Marshall…She was also a member of the National Honor Society…She is a Presidential Scholar and the recipient of the WSSU Kvandella Merit Scholarship…She is a Chemistry major and the daughter of Robert and Janet McDaniel.
