Charolette Hunt joined the Winston-Salem State University Department as the department's Associate Athletics Director for Compliance after serving as the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and Academic Services and Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) at Texas Woman’s University (TWU) after 13 years.

Hunt spent a decade working in compliance roles at Division I schools and conferences before joining Division II Lone Star Conference member, TWU. At TWU, Hunt held a variety of leadership roles on campus as the liaison to the athletics department. She was the Advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was involved in the nomination of TWU’s first student-athlete Regent. She was a Title IX Investigator and Deputy Title IX Officer for the university and was involved in revamping the university’s Sexual Misconduct Policy. She was designated as the Athletics Diversity and Inclusion Designee by the Chancellor and worked in conjunction with diverse affinity groups, the Belonging Committee and the Committee on Inclusion and Advocacy to ensure an inclusive environment at TWU. Hunt was very involved with the Academic Advisors at TWU to ensure that they understood the NCAA academic requirements and expectations of an athletics department that has held a departmental GPA of over 3.0 for over forty years.

Hunt came to TWU after working for five years as the Director of Compliance for Conference USA. She was responsible for providing legislative and governance support to member institutions with compliance, academics and NCAA committees. Before that, she held the Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance and SWA positions at the University of Texas-Pan American (now University of Texas Rio Grande Valley), Compliance Coordinator at Northwestern University, Eligibility Coordinator at the University of Michigan, and Compliance Assistant at the Big East Conference.

Hunt has been an active member in Women Leaders in College Sports, National Association of Athletics Compliance (NAAC), Minority Opportunities Athletics Association (MOAA), Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Council of Excellence (DIECE), Voter Registrars of Denton County, League of Women Voters and Free Mom Hugs. Her passion for student-athlete well-being, inclusivity, civic engagement, and ethical behavior in sports has driven her to continue her 24 year career in intercollegiate sports.

Hunt is an Arkansas native who graduated from Arkansas State University with her Bachelor of Science in Physical Education emphasis in Sports Promotion and a minor in Journalism. She will live in the Triad area with her son, Caden and her dog, Remi.
