Errick Hargrove enters his first year of coaching at his alma mater Winston-Salem State University, as the Assistant Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator.
With over a decade of educating, coaching, counseling, and building strong relationships at the higher education level, Hargrove began his coaching career at Virginia State University in 2002. This is where he spent several years as Defensive Coordinator/Recruiting Coordinator/Defensive Back coach.
Hargrove also had stints at Shaw University as Co-Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Back coach, Fayetteville State University Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Back coach, and Saint Augustine’s University as the Associate Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator.
As a collegiate player, Hargrove was a four-year letterman at Winston-Salem State University from 1998 to 2001. A three-year starter at defensive back. Hargrove started on two CIAA Championship teams in 1999 and 2000. The 1999 Rams’ team won the Pioneer Bowl, and the 1998 and 2001 teams were CIAA runner-ups. In 2000, Hargrove was selected to the All-CIAA First Team.
Hargrove earned his Master of Education degree in Counseling Education at Virginia State University (2005) and his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management at Winston-Salem State University (2002). Hargrove is a graduate of Northern Vance High School in Henderson, NC where he was the 3A North Carolina state wrestling champion in 1997. He is a proud father of Kyri Hargrove. He is also a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
