A Winston-Salem Native and former WSSU 3 year starting Quarterback from 2004-2007 will now serve as the Wide Receiver coach for first year head coach Tory Woodbury.
After his collegiate playing career Coach Purvis played three seasons of arena football in IFL and AIFA.
During his three year stint in the arena football world he continued to coach football and develop student athletes at the high school level at Parkland, Winston-Salem Prep Academy and Reagan High School which continued for a total of 17 years.
With a passion for cultivating talent, Coach Purvis likes to focus on having an all-inclusive type of athlete which includes helping develop athletes individually as well as team oriented. While at Reagan High School Monte’ helped numerous amounts of student athletes reach their goal of being all conference and making it the college level. With over 10 years of coaching experience and developing student athletes he is up to the challenge of preparing young men for early adulthood, professional careers, and success on the football field as well.
Coach Purvis received his Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from WSSU in 2011.
Coach Purvis and his wife Kelli Purvis were married in April, 2015. They are the parents of Makhi, Laila, and Madox Purvis
