DURHAM, N.C. – The Winston-Salem State University men's tennis team fell to 0-2 on the season on Sunday afternoon as they dropped a 6-1 decision to the Eagles of North Carolina Central University at the Sheffield Indoor Tennis Center in Durham, N.C.
The Rams started the match by dropping the doubles point as the Eagles swept the Rams swept in all three doubles matches as they held WSSU to only seven points in the trio of matches.
Singles play would see the Eagles sweep five out of the six singles matches as Winston-Salem State earned their lone point of the match at second singles.
The Rams' Ian Hunter earned the Rams a point as he cruised to an easy victory over the Eagles' Bryan Jackson 6-3, 6-3 at second singles.
The loss drops Winston-Salem State to 0-2 on the season while North Carolina Central improves to 1-3 on the year.
