WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem State Rams (4-6) had their three-game winnings streak snapped when the team took a 7-2 loss to the Barton Bulldogs (5-3), Monday. The Rams gave a strong effort in every set of the match, but could not muster enough to pick up the win.
The Rams opened the day strong with three 8-5 losses in doubles play, but were able to pick up a pair of singles points in the match. Senior Brian Coxton took a win by default, but fellow senior Maximilian Glodde took a 6-3, 2-2 (ret.) win in singles play to score the two points for the Rams.
The Rams will get a much-needed rest before returning to action as the team will face the Lincoln (Pa.) Lions next Saturday at the CIAA Round-Up in Petersburg, Va. The break will give the team a chance to recover from injury before taking the court again.
